PRISM Topic - David's Declarations To Us - What we should do!
Blessed is the man who does not walk in the counsel of the wicked or stand in the way of sinners or sit in the seat of mockers. But his delight is in the law of the LORD, and on his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by rivers of water that brings forth its fruit in season and whose leaf also does not wither. Whatever he does prospers. (1:1-3)
But let all who take refuge in you be glad; let them ever sing for joy. (5:11)
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the LORD our God. They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm. (20:7-8)
You who fear the LORD, praise him! All you descendants of Jacob honor him! Revere Him all you descendants of Israel! (22:23)
Who may ascend the hill of the LORD? Who may stand in his holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who does not lift up his soul to an idol or swear by what is false. He will receive blessing from the LORD and vindication from God his Savior. Such is the generation of those who seek him, who seek your face, O God of Jacob. (24:3-6)
Ascribe to the LORD, O mighty ones, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength. Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of his holiness. (29:1-2)
Love the LORD, all his saints! The LORD preserves the faithful, but the proud he pays back in full. Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD. (31:23-24)
Blessed is he whose transgressions are forgiven, whose sins are covered. Blessed is the man whose sin the LORD does not count against him and in whose spirit is no deceit. (32:1-2)
Therefore, let everyone who is godly pray to you while you may be found; surely when the mighty waters rise, they will not reach him. (32:6)
Rejoice in the LORD and be glad you righteous; sing, all you who are upright in heart! (32:11)
Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous; it is fitting for the upright to praise him. Praise the LORD with the harp; make music to him on the ten-string lyre. Sing to him a new song; play skillfully, and shout for joy. (33:1-3)
Let all the earth fear the LORD; let all the people of the world revere him. For he spoke and it came to be; he commanded and it stood firm. (33:8-9)
Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD, the people he chose for his inheritance. (33:12)
In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. (33:21)
Glorify the LORD with me, let us exalt his name together. (34:3)
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him. (34:8)
Fear the LORD, you his saints, for those who fear him lack nothing. The lions may grow weak and hungry, but those who seek the LORD lack no good thing (34:9-10)
A righteous man may have many troubles, but the LORD delivers him from them all. (34:19)
Do not fret because of evil men or be envious of those who do wrong; for like the grass they will soon whither, like green plants they will soon die away. (37:1-2)
Trust in the LORD and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. (37:3)
Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart. (37:4)
Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him and he will do this; He will make your righteousness shine like the dawn, the justice of your cause like the noonday sun. (37:5-6)
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; do not fret when men succeed in their ways, when they carry out their wicked schemes. (37:7)
Refrain from anger and turn from wrath – it only leads to evil. For evil men will be cut off, but those who hope in the LORD will inherit the land. (37:8-9)
The days of the blameless are known to the LORD, and their inheritance will endure forever. In times of disaster they will not wither; in days of famine they will enjoy plenty. (37:18-10)
Turn from evil and do good; then you will dwell in the land forever. For the LORD loves the just and will not forsake his faithful ones. They will be protected forever; but the offspring of the wicked will be cut off. (37:27-28)
Wait for the LORD and keep his way. He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it. (37:34)
Blessed is the man who makes the LORD his trust, who does not look to the proud, bot those who turn aside to false gods. (40:4)
But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation always say, “The LORD be exalted!” (40:16)
Blessed is the man who has regard for the weak; the LORD delivers him in time of trouble. (41:1)
Within your temple, O God, we meditate on your unfailing love. (48:9)
Cast your cares on the LORD and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous fall. (55:22)
Then men will say, “Surely the righteous still are rewarded; surely there is a God who judges the earth.” (58:11)
Say to God, “How awesome are your deeds! So great is your power that your enemies cringe before you. All the earth bows down to you; they sing praise to you; they sing praise to your name. (66:3-4)
Come and see what God has done, how awesome his works on man’s behalf! He turned the sea into dry land, they passed through the waters on foot – come, let us rejoice in him. He rules forever by his power; his eyes watch the nations – let not the rebellious rise up against him. (66:5-7)
Praise our God, O peoples, let the sound of his praise be heard; he has preserved our lives and kept our feet from slipping. (66:8-9)
Come and listen, all you who fear God, let me tell you what he has done for me. I cried out to him with my mouth; his praise was on my tongue. If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened; but God has surely listened and heard my voice in prayer. Praise be to God who has not rejected my prayer or withheld his love from me. (66:16-20)
God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land. (68:6)
Praise be to the LORD, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens. Our God is a God who saves; from the Sovereign LORD comes escape from death. (68:19)
The LORD hears the needy and does not despise his captive people. (69:33)
But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your Salvation always say, “Let God be exalted!” (70:4)
He will defend the afflicted among the people and save the children of the needy, he will crush the oppressor. He will endure as long as the sun, as long as the moon, through all generations. He will be like rain falling on a mown field, like showers watering the earth. In his days the righteous will flourish; prosperity will abound til the moon is no more. (72:4-7)
For He will deliver the needy who cry out, the afflicted who have no one to help. He will take pity on the weak and the needy and save the needy from death. He will rescue them from oppression and violence, for precious is their blood in his sight. (72:12-14)
Surely God is good to Israel, to those who are pure in heart. (73:1)
But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the Sovereign LORD my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds. (73:28)
But you, O God, are my king from of old; you bring salvation upon the earth. It was you who split open the sea by your power; you broke the heads of the monster in the waters. It was you who crushed the heads of Leviathan and gave him as food to the creatures of the desert. It was you who opened up springs and streams; you dried up the ever flowing rivers. The day is yours and yours also the night; you established the sun and moon. It was you who set all the boundaries of the earth; you made both summer and winter. (74:12-15)
No one from the east or the west or from the desert can exalt a man. But it is God who judges: He brings one down, he exalts another. (75:6-7)
In Judah God is known; his name is great in Israel. His tent is in Salem, his dwelling place in Zion. 76:1-2
Your ways O God, are holy. What god is so great as our God? You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples. With your mighty arm you redeemed your people, the descendants of Jacob and Joseph. (77:13-15)
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. (84:11)
The LORD will indeed give what is good, and our land will yield its harvest. Righteousness goes before him and prepares the way for his steps. (86:12-13)
But you O LORD, are exalted forever. For surely your enemies, O LORD, surely your enemies will perish; all evildoers will be scattered. You have exalted my horn like that of a wild ox; fine oils have been poured upon me. My eyes have seen the defeat of my adversaries; my ears have heard the rout of my wicked foes. (92:8-11)
The LORD reigns, he is robed in majesty; the LORD is robed in majesty and is armed with strength. The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved. Your throne was established long ago; you are from all eternity. (93:1-2)
The LORD knows the thoughts of man; he knows that they are futile. (94:11)
The LORD will not reject his people; he will never forsake his inheritance. Judgment will again be founded on righteousness, and all the upright in heart will follow it. (94:14-15)
Can a corrupt throne be allied with you – one that brings on misery by its decrees? They band together against the righteous and condemn the innocent to death. But the LORD has become my fortress, and my God the rock in whom I take refuge. He will repay them for their sins and destroy them for their wickedness; the LORD our God will destroy them. (94:20-23)
For the LORD is the great God, the great King above all gods. In his hand are the depths of the earth, and the mountain peaks belong to him. The sea is his, for he made it, and his hands formed the dry land. For He is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care. (95:3-5,7)
For great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; he is to be feared above all gods. (96:4)
The LORD is compassionate and gracious, slow to anger, abounding in love. He will not always accuse, nor will he harbor his anger forever; he does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities. For as high as the heavens are above the earth, so great is his love for those who fear him; as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. As a father has compassion on his children, so the LORD has compassion on those who fear him; for he knows how we are formed, he remembers that we are dust. (103:6-14)
Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them. Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever. He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate. He provides food for those who fear him; he remembers his covenant forever. He has shown his people the power of his works, giving them the lands of other nations. The works of his hands are faithful and just; all his precepts are trustworthy. They are steadfast for ever and ever, done in faithfulness and uprightness. He provided redemption for his people; he ordained his covenant forever – holy and awesome is his name. The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise. (111:2-10)
The LORD is exalted over all the nations, his glory above the heavens. Who is like the LORD our God the One who sits enthroned on high, who stoops down to look on the heavens and the earth? He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; he seats them with princes, with the princes of their people. He settles the barren woman in her home as a happy mother of children. (113:4-9)
Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. (115:3)
The LORD remembers us and will bless us: He will bless the house of Israel, he will bless the house of Aaron, he will bless those who fear the LORD both small and great alike. (115:12-13)
The LORD is gracious and righteous; our God is full of compassion. The LORD protects the simplehearted; when I was in great need, he saved me. (116:6)
He will not let your foot slip – he who watches over you will not slumber nor sleep. The LORD watches over you – the LORD is your shade at your right hand; the sun will not harm you by day, nor the moon by night. (121:1-6)
The LORD will keep you from all harm – he will watch over your life; the LORD will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore. (121:7-8)
Unless the LORD builds the house, they labor in vain that build it. (127:1)
All the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be. (139:16)
Praise be to the LORD my Rock, who trains my hands for war, my fingers for battle. He is my loving God and my fortress, my stronghold and my deliverer, my shield in whom I take refuge, who subdues peoples under me. (141:1-2)
Blessed are the people of whom this is true; blessed are the people whose God is the LORD. (144:15)
One generation will commend your works to another; they will tell of your mighty acts. They will speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty, and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They will tell of the power of your awesome works, and I will proclaim your great deeds. They will celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness. (145:4-7)
All you have made will praise you, O LORD: your saints will extol you. They will tell of the glory of your kingdom and speak of your might, so that all men may know of your mighty acts and the glorious splendor of your kingdom. (145:12)
My mouth will speak in praise of the LORD. Let every creature praise his holy name for ever and ever. (145:21)
Do not put your trust in princes, in mortal men, who cannot save. When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; on that very day their plans come to nothing. (146:3-4)
Blessed is he whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the LORD his God, the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea and everything in them – the LORD, who remains faithful forever. He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The LORD sets prisoners free. (146:5-7)
The LORD gives sight to the blind, the LORD lifts up those who are bowed down, the LORD loves the righteous. The LORD reigns forever, your God, O Zion, for all generations. (146:8,10)
Sing to the LORD with thanksgiving; make music to our God on the harp. (147:7)
The LORD delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love. (147:11)
Extol the LORD, O Jerusalem; praise your God, O Zion, for he strengthens the bars of your gates and blesses your people within you. He grants peace to your borders and satisfies you with the finest of wheat. (147:12-14)
Praise the LORD. Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heavens. Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness. Praise him with the sounding of the trumpet, praise him with the harp and lyre, praise him with tambourine and dancing, praise him with the strings and flute, praise him with the clash of cymbals, praise him with resounding cymbals. (150:1-5)
Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! (150:6)
