Matt 10:28 - Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, fear the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Luke 12:4-5 - "I tell you, my friends, do not be afraid of those who kill the body and after that can do no more. With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. When they calculated the value of the scrolls, the total came to fifty thousand pieces of silver. In this way the word of the Lord spread widely and grew in power. Romans 3:10-12,18 - As it is written: "There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one." … "There is no fear of God before their eyes." 2 Corinthians 7:1 - Since we have these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from every defilement of body and spirit, bringing holiness to completion in the fear of God.
