John 14:6 - Jesus answered, I am the way the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

The Devil is a liar and the Father of Lies. Lies and lying come from him, not God. John 8:44 - You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies.

The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous. But when people keep on sinning, it shows that they belong to the devil, who has been sinning from the beginning. The reason the Son of God appeared was to destroy the works of the devil. No one who is born of God will continue to sin, because God’s seed remains in them; they cannot go on sinning, because they have been born of God. This is how we can tell who the children of God are and who the children of the devil are: Anyone who does not do what is right is not God’s child, nor is anyone who does not love their brother and sister.

It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell… but the tongue no one can tame, it is restless evil, full of deadly poison. With it we bless our Lord and Father, and with it we curse men who are made in the image of God, my friends, this should not be. And so blessing and cursing come pouring out of the same mouth. Surely, my brothers and sisters, this is not right!

If you struggle with lying, it could be a symptom of another problem. It could be a "slow to repent & turn" issue - you’re just not an obeyer. So now, truth has vanished from you - you lie habitually. The Cost of Lying (Not 100% truthful - you will deceive to get your way or avoid consequences of your actions)

Finally a spirit came forward, stood before the LORD and said, ‘I will entice him,’ By what means?’ the LORD asked. ‘”I will go out and be a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all his prophets,’ he said. ‘”You will succeed in enticing him,’ said the LORD. ‘ Go and do it.’ “So now the LORD has put a deceiving spirit in the mouths of all these prophets of yours. The LORD has decreed disaster for you.”

Liars Separate themselves from God. He doesn’t hear their prayers and they can’t hear his voice – no matter how much they seek him.
