PiVAT Journals of the Bible... Before reading this - first read PRISM Topic – Write It Down I Samuel 3:19,21 - The LORD was with Samuel as he grew up, and he let none of his words fall to the ground… The LORD continued to appear at Shiloh, and there he revealed himself to Samuel through his word.
Why do you think the LORD continued to appear and reveal himself to Samuel through his word?
Because Samuel did not let one of God’s Words to him, fall to the ground. He valued them! He wrote it down – So God gave him more. This is God’s Principle of More – as demonstrated to Samuel.
Jesus explained this same principle in Matthew 13:12 - “Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them."
How did we know Jesus even said this? Because Matthew wrote it down! He thought what God said to him was important enough to write down. “But Jesus wasn’t talking to just Matthew, he was talking to everyone.” True, but Matthew received it, he heard God’s Word, just as if Jesus were talking to him alone. Matthew had ears to hear… He wrote it down.
Matthew 11:15 - He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
If you value what God says to you, you will write it down, treasure it, not let it fall to the ground And God will give you more, the next step, the next level, the next Word you need to succeed.
Matthew 4:4 - But he answered and said, It is written, man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
But if you don’t value it, or write it down, so you can obey it… Even the word you have been given will be taken away from you.
Matthew 13:12 - Whoever has will be given more, and they will have an abundance. Whoever does not have, even what they have will be taken from them.
How? Will God take it away? No, God’s word says he gives gifts without repentance. (No take backs)
Romans 11:29 - For the gifts and calling of God are without repentance.
But the devil can easily steal any word from God for you, that you don’t value enough to write down; to remember, to obey immediately, and apply continually. That Word from God that you place little value on, don’t even value it enough to write it down; becomes like the seed on the path that the birds come and snatch away.
Matthew 13:4 - As he was scattering the seed,(which Jesus said is the Word of God) some fell along the path, and the birds came and ate it up.
God's Practical Instruction Some things God tells you are highly Spiritual, but other things are just simply practical. If you value what God says; you will write it down. If you don’t value it, you won’t. This is pretty important. It will determine if God can demonstrate the Principle of More in your life, like He did in Samuel’s.
Every time God tells you something, either through his Word, through the Holy Spirit in your spirit, or by the Holy Spirit through someone else either from direct or indirect conversation (whether it’s spiritual or natural related), write it down.
That means any time you hear someone talking or you receive new information of any kind, God can speak to you; either confirming what they say, or confronting it by revealing His truth. Whatever He says to you... Write it Down. Be determined to form this habit.

The most important One: The Book of Life. Whoever's name is written here will be welcomed in heaven. Whoever’s name is not found in this book - will be cast out into outer darkness. If you have put your faith in Jesus Christ, your name is written in the Lamb’s Book of Life. (Pretty important). Another book mentioned in the Bible is the Law of Moses – The Torah – in which God reveals his will for his people, and the blessings that will follow them, if they obey his instructions.
The Annals of the Kings of Judah and Israel contained a written record of all the things the kings did in their lifetime both good and bad. The kingdom of Persia kept one of these records also. It’s how Mordecai was later recognized for his acts of loyalty to the King.
The gospels were the books in which the Apostles recorded the annals of the Life of Jesus, the Son of God, the promised Messiah.
The spies wrote a book describing the promised land in detail and brought it to Joshua. It served as a map of the inheritance God was giving them.
Samuel wrote a book in which he outlined the ordinances that God laid out for a monarchy; God’s instructions of how a kingdom should operate, in contrast to the kingdoms of the nations around them.
Jeremiah and the other prophets wrote books of what God revealed regarding the children of Israel, these warnings became the books of the Bible today that bear their names.
Luke wrote a book of the Acts of Jesus, (the gospel of Luke) and a book about the Acts of the Holy Spirit through the early Church. (the book of Acts).
The Bible says God had a book of remembrance written, a book of record of those that Feared God. God remembered them, and gave his unchangeable promise to move on their behalf, that he will again make a distinction between the wicked and the righteous. You are not Fearing God for nothing!
God told John to write down in a book, the things that he had seen – which is the book of Revelation.
But there is another book which will also affect you significantly. It is the second book in heaven mentioned in Revelation which contains the record of your life – the annals of the life of you! The things you have done while on this earth. Each one of us will give account of what he has done while in the body. A permanent record, of what you have done, what you have said, the motives of your heart. The good, the bad, the ugly, all will be revealed on that day.
Writing holds great significance. Obey God’s Command to Write It Down
