Love you all, praying for you.
Praise God! Open doors for conversations to encourage people. Safety in travel, surprise visits, God’s provision. He has assignments for each of us today. Most people don’t even realize that. I’m praying that you will be looking for them! and asking the Holy Spirit to take over your response.
God has been teaching me.
He who guards his mouth and his tongue keeps himself from calamity. - Proverbs 21:23
There are personal and corporate truths in this. First, watch what you say to people, or someone might give you a beat down.
Proverbs 18:6 – A fool’s lips walk him into a fight, and his mouth invites a beating.
But also on a larger scale.
Calamity – any great misfortune or cause of misery that brings great distress. (Often referring to individual – loss of job, car, house, spouse, etc. or the broader devastating effects of war, or natural, or economic disaster)
Guard your mouth and your tongue… Any fear you give voice to, you will draw like a magnet. If your words speak fear of calamity, that same calamity will become a heat-seeking missile (a word seeking missile) and hunt you down. Whatever words give it a home, it’s coming to roost.
God’s Word says your tongue should always speak good for yourself and others. If fear of something is attempting entry into your thoughts, don’t let it get into your mouth! Don’t repeat it, you’ll believe it! Instead, use your mouth to replace and eject it. Speak God’s Word, His power, His promise, and fear will be evicted.
Isa 3:10 Tell the righteous it will be well with them, for they will eat the fruit of their deeds. But the wicked are doomed, they will get exactly what they deserve.
Your deeds start with what you say.
Proverbs 3:25 Have no fear of sudden disaster, or the ruin that overtakes the wicked. For the LORD will be your confidence and will keep your foot from being snared.
Praying for you today, that you will speak life to every fear. That you will guard your tongue, not just to keep yourself from calamity, but that you would use your tongue to release blessing in your life, and others!
