Daily Huddle - Fri  Feb 8, 2019            A Choice Becomes A Path

Love you all, praying for you.

Today.  Helping my parents with 4C’s, Verizon store visit, and prescriptions renewal.  Thanks, April.  Then dinner with Daniel.  We are starting a 3-Day Challenge next week.  Praise God.  Pray for God to do ridiculous things.

This morning God brought me back to what He revealed to me yesterday.

Even from birth, the wicked go astray; from the womb they are wayward and speak lies.  Their venom is like the venom of a snake, like that of a cobra who stops his ears, and will not listen to the tune of the charmer however skillful the charmer may be.  - Psalm 58:3-4

The wicked is always the other guy – not me.  “I’m not like that…”

The wise heed warning.  An honest look at ourselves.  “Am I the wicked?”  or  “What things could I be doing - that lead to wickedness?”

Wickedness doesn’t happen all at once.  Just as obedience is a path, so is wickedness.

What is the wicked?  Wayward.  Speaking lies.

Notice it didn’t say ‘lying to people.’  It said ‘speaking lies.’  You lie to yourself before lying to others.  Lies form your belief and you just speak what you believe.

Wayward (ness) – not heeding.  It starts with the little.

Waywardness comes from stopping your ears.  Stopping your ears starts with entertaining several voices.

The righteous keep one voice dominant in their ears.

The wicked start listening to several voices; then they all start sounding the same,

then they continually choose the wrong voice; and then they stop their ears to God’s voice.

They have been deceived, then they deceive themselves.  They listen to the many, and eventually they will not listen to the One.

Humble yourself.  Be wise.  Take warning.  Don’t speak lies to yourself – guard your tongue with all diligence.

Do not say a single word that is not love and life.  (Don’t speak lies, you’ll start believing them.)

Praying for you, that God would speak.  That you would listen and repeat it quickly. That God would put a muzzle on your mouth, that you would always catch yourself before you say any idle or foolish thing.  That your words would be God’s Words that will establish your life.

Love you all,
dad
