Love you all, praying for you.

God reminded me this morning of a sobering verse.  James 3:7-8 – For every kind of beast and bird, reptile and sea creature can be tamed and has been tamed by man, but no man can tame the tongue.  It is a restless evil, full of deadly poison.  Who can tame the tongue?  You might not be able to tame it – but you can direct it.  Rather than wait until it’s out of control, and try to get that genie back in the bottle – why not just direct it?   One thing God has brought to my attention in life… When I am praising God – out loud with my tongue – it’s hard to complain, it’s hard to grumble.  When I’m speaking His Word and His praise – it’s hard to criticize others, or say anything harmful about anybody or anything.  But an unattended tongue will get you in trouble.  An un-directed tongue – will find things on it’s own and rarely are they productive.  Just like idle hands – an idle tongue will head south pretty quickly.  Have you ever heard someone say – I’m sorry – I take that back.  They said something foolish, or unkind, or cruel, and they tried to say – I take that back.  But you can’t take it back.  It’s already said – released in the atmosphere - it’s already hanging in the air – the damage has already been done.  Like Humpty Dumpty – all the kings horses and all the kings men couldn’t put Humpty back together again.  A fascinating verse in the Bible talks about prayer – those words we say.  Revelation 5:8 – And when he had taken it, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb.  Each one had a harp and they were holding golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of God’s people.   The words of your prayers remain – the prayers of the saints remain for eternity – they are stored up in heaven.  That’s why prayers your Grandma and your Great-Grandma prayed – they are still before God – He’s outside of time.  When you are gone your prayers will remain.  What you say is important.  God never told us to tame our tongue – He told us to direct it.  Every time you speak out loud – His Word, His Truth, His Promise – you are speaking into the atmosphere, you are establishing jurisdiction, you are filling your heart – and the prayers you say are filling the bowls of heaven.  Praying that you would always direct your tongue with His Word.  Please review the PRISM Topic – Starter Verses, Speak Life, and As For Me.  Take them with you - come back to them throughout the day.  Always Speak this Word into the atmosphere, into your heart, and into the bowls of heaven.  Praying that you will declare His word – out loud.  Praying that you will Praise His Word – out loud, Praying that you will pray His word out loud – over you and your family and others.  A directed tongue doesn’t need to be tamed, it needs to be unleashed.  Praise Out Loud, Pray Out Loud, Do your PRISM Out Loud, Do your PiVAT Prayer List – out loud.  Pray for someone else out loud – See the PRISM Topic – Scriptural Prayers for those you love.  Tell people Jesus Loves them – Out Loud.  Praying you will unleash your tongue for Good today – first thing, and every hour.  Everything God created – started with a Word – Let there be…  and there was.  Praying that God’s Word – would consume your tongue today – so your heart is overflowing with His love, His Joy, His victory.  Let every Word He said, every command for your good, every promise for your blessing – be established with your own mouth.  Your life will change – your marriage will change, your children will change, your grandchildren will change, and every generation that follows will be impacted by the words you say – and the prayers you pray - today.  Praying for you today that God would help you pray and help you say.

Love you all,
dad
