Love you all, praying for you.
Today our baby played her last high school basketball game. It makes you pause and think. The older I get, the broader my perspective on seasons. Not just a basketball season, or a football season, but life seasons. Life comes in seasons. A time to plant and a time to reap. You are really in one of three places. The end of a season, the beginning of a season, or in the middle of one. Some seasons you know when the beginning is, and when the end is. Other seasons, you don’t know how long they are going to last.
Regarding Seasons ending:
Ecclesiastes 7:8 The end of a matter is better than the beginning, and a patient spirit is better than a proud one.
Regarding Seasons beginning:
Zechariah 4:10 Do not despise the day of small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin…
And regarding the middle:
Exodus 16:35 So the people of Israel ate manna for forty years until they arrived at the land where they could settle. They ate manna until they came to the border of the land of Canaan.
So what do you do in each season? The same things: Be thankful, Be hopeful, Be faithful, Be joyful. If you are ending a season, be thankful for God’s faithfulness through it all. Know that as this season is closing, He is so excited about what He has for you next! If you are at the beginning of a season. Be thankful, hopeful, faithful, joyful. He has brought you to His new season because He has good for you.
But most of the time, you are in the middle of a season…
Galatians 6:9 So let us not grow weary of doing good, for if we do not give up, the time will come when we will reap the harvest.
Every season has a harvest. God said He will fulfill His purpose for you. You can be sure of it.
So I’m praying that you will be ever thankful, always hopeful, consistently faithful, and overwhelmingly joyful… until you see the harvest of this season. And God’s new beginning for you.
Love you all,
