Love you all, praying for you,

God asked me a question once – that permanently altered the course of my life.  Was it the Best Question Ever?  No that question changes my life every day!  But this one - forever altered the course of my life, the direction of it.   I was reading Jeremiah 29:11 – For I know the plans I have for you declares the LORD – plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.  And God asked me something in my spirit  “How will you ever follow the plans I have for your life – if you don’t even know the plans I have for you for tomorrow?”  I can’t.  If I don’t know what God wants me to do tomorrow, how will I know what He wants me to do with my life.  God was telling me the importance of PiVAT before dinner.  I will do it the rest of my life.  I have to.  PiVAT before dinner is how I learn God’s plans for me.  PiVAT Weekly before the week begins is how I learn God’s plans for me.  Because if you learn how to fully walk in His plans for you today, and this week, and this month,  You will surely walk in His plans for your life.   PiVAT before dinner – is how you hear his voice.  And PRISM – is how you know His voice.  It’s how you know you heard Him.  Romans 12:1-2 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies as a living sacrifice – holy and acceptable unto God which is your reasonable act of service (worship - to serve means to come under the authority of).  And then verse 2 – Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind (that’s PRISM) Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is – (that’s  PiVAT before dinner )  His good, pleasing and complete will.   The question of life – whose plans are you following?  The Bible speaks of God’s Way and Man’s Way.  PiVAT is not just a change of direction (from man’s way to God’s way)  – it’s a change of ownership.  God the Father was telling me, you’re a “Jesus is Savior" Christian, but I want you to be a “Jesus is LORD” Christian - just like my son Jesus was.  Jesus only followed the plans His Heavenly Father had for Him.  That’s why He endured the cross for you and me.  Jesus even asked the same of the people who were gathering around him.  Luke 6:46 – Why do you call me Lord, Lord, when you don't do what I say?  Isaiah 30:2 – Woe to the obstinate children declares the LORD – who follow plans that are not mine, heaping sin upon sin.  It was for that very reason that Jesus had to endure the cross.  Isaiah 53:6 – We all like sheep have gone astray, every one of us has turned to his own way, (his own plans) and the LORD has laid on him, (Jesus) the iniquity of us all.  It wasn’t just the sins that are obvious – it was going our own way, instead of following His – following our own plans – instead of His - that required His life sacrificed on a cross - to save us.  Jesus laid down his life so that we could turn from our own way to God’s way.  It was the first thing Jesus said to his first followers.  Come, follow me.  That’s PiVAT – a change of direction, a change of ownership – of their day planner.  The disciples gave up their calendar, their day planner – they surrendered their plans for today – and chose His plans for them for today.  It’s what following Jesus really means.  So how do you know the plans – that God knows He has for you?  Ask Him!  PiVAT: - Four Questions to ask with your day planner – so you get God’s plans for you for today – not yours.  PiVAT - P: Prayer - What do you need most from God today? Do this before dinner – to get God’s plans for you for tomorrow.  You cannot answer this question, you have to ask it.  If you answer it – that’s just your own plans again.  You have to ask, and He will tell you – He’s been to tomorrow already, you haven’t been there yet.    James 4:13 - Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.  Why you don’t even know what will happen tomorrow.  What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then disappears.  Instead you ought to say, “If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this (thing) or that (thing).”  As it is, you boast and brag.  All such boasting is evil.  Anyone then, who knows the good he ought to do and doesn’t do it, sins.  So how do you know the good you ought to do?  The only One good is God - Jesus said it, and the only good to do - is His good to do for you...  It's not going to this or that city – but asking God what God wants you to do – that’s the only way to walk in the ‘good you ought to do.’  Its not just the bragging that’s falling short of what God wants,  it’s the not asking what He wants for you – not surrendering your life to His plans for you (the ‘good’ that you ought to do) that God calls sin – or falling short of what He commands.  When Jesus says, Come, follow me, and I will make you fishers of men, He wants to take over your day planner, He wants to take over your life - to bring you to His plan, to His good.  That’s what life is – time.  PiVAT gives Him your time.  Just like the Disciples did, just like Jesus did with His Heavenly Father.  It’s what followers of Christ do.  PiVAT V: Vision – What is the Number One Thing He is telling you to do today?  Again, you cannot answer this – or it will be your plan - you have to ask this.  Ask the Holy Spirit.  What you think He wants you to do, is not what He wants you to do.  It’s what you ask Him, and He tells you – that is truly what He wants you to do.   What’s the difference?  Your first reaction is not always His will – I’ve found that it rarely is.  But If your first reaction is to ask the Holy Spirit – in complete surrender – not even thinking about what you think you should do – or what he wants you to do.. but stop thinking, and just hear what He says.  “God what is the number one thing – you’re telling me to do today?  Then - just wait...  Listen…   He will tell you.  Write down what He says – not what you think.  But that’s what I think He says.  Wait a minute, Stop.  There is what you think, and there is what God says.  There is no such thing as “what you think he said.”  He either said it or He didn’t.  Never falsely combine “thinking and hearing”  don’t confuse the two…  Don’t think what he says – just hear it,  and obey it.  It will require faith.  Ask Him - and He will tell you.  What He brings across your mind – when you ask Him this question – you can trust Him that He spoke and you heard Him.  God said James 1:5 - If you lack wisdom Ask, and He will give it to you.  God said – if you if your son asks you for a piece of bread, you would never give him a stone – neither will your Father in Heaven do that!  If you ask Him, what you need most from Him for tomorrow – He will tell you.  (He won’t wait until next week – that wouldn’t be a good father)  If you ask Him what is the Number One Thing He wants you to do tomorrow?  Just like He promised in James 1:5 - He will surely tell you.  That’s how you learn to hear his voice.  It has nothing to do with thinking.  This is about hearing, and believing, and then doing.  Don’t worry, He won’t only tell you, He will confirm it.  That’s why PRISM is so important – The very next day – in God’s Word – He will confirm what He just told you to do in PiVAT before dinner last night, or on your Daily Call, or in the night season.  God will confirm what He told you – so you will know – His voice – not just hear it.  So just walk in faith.  PiVAT A: Accountability – When is He telling you to do it?  If God tells you what to do, Ask Him when - He will tell you when.  And then write it down – put it in the middle column in the time slot He told you.  Things to do, without a specific time, rarely get done or done well.    David asked, so God told him the exact time to move – when you hear the sound of rushing in the mulberry trees.  (3:00 pm)  that’s when you are to move out.  Timing is everything – flowers on Feb 15th doesn’t cut it.  The day after her birthday, or your anniversary isn’t the same.  When God tells you the number one thing He wants you to do today. He will also tell you when.  And finally PiVAT T: Testimony – what did God do yesterday – as you’re learning to obey Him?  As you’re learning to do what He told you to do…  and What did He reveal from your PRISM time in His Word?  This is overcoming testimony.  Write it Down – He will remind you of all the things He said to you and did for you.  It’s how your faith grows, and joy comes, it’s’ the testimony you overcome with on your Daily Call – so you are ready to share that same testimony with others throughout the day!   When you know what God told you to do, and you do it.  When you learn to walk in His plans for you for today – you will learn to hear and know His voice above any other.  You will learn to walk in His plans for you today, so you can walk in His plans for you for this week and this month – that’s how you walk in His plans for you for your life.  It starts today.   Praying you will keep that habit.  PiVAT before dinner.  So you can follow Him, so He makes you fishers of men, so your reward will be full - on that day!  Well Done, Good and faithful servant – you’ve been faithful with a few things, I will put you in charge over many things – Enter into the joy of your LORD!

Love you all,
dad
