Love you all, praying for you.
A recent Daily Call had me go back to God’s Word. One crazy benefit of a Daily Call with another obeyer… Their PRISM is a bonus gift from God to you. It’s like God speaks to you double! Crazy!
Psalm 19:7-9 The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul, the testimony of the LORD is sure making wise the simple.
Wow. Word and Testimony. He spoke, you obeyed, He does crazy things, and you overcome by telling about it! The Law of the LORD. That’s the Word of God. It was the Torah – that’s all David had at the time. Psalms and Proverbs weren’t written yet (… in progress), and the Prophets hadn’t yet been born. Torah means: precept, statute. Precepts – commands concerning personal conduct. The Word of the LORD is perfect… Perfect – means complete, entire, whole, sound, undefiled. Reviving – means To turn back from death (convert) and To turn back to life (Revive)
Revive – Latin – RE (again) VIVE (live) To come back to life, to recover from a state of neglect, oblivion, obscurity, or depression. To raise, renew, to bring to action after a suspension. To refresh with joy or hope. That’s what Revive is. The Word of God is complete – it will bring people back to life again! Their soul, not just their spirit. God’s Word changes who they are, their personality, the entire person they were is replaced with the love of Jesus. They now act differently, they treat others differently.
The testimony of the LORD is sure (the story of what God did and what He revealed) – making wise the simple. Sure: aman. To build or support, to render firm or faithful, true, certain, established. To help you be faithful of long continuance. Steadfast, verified. Your Testimony builds and supports you. It’s how you overcome! Your Testimony is the Testimony of Him!
Making wise the simple. Your testimony completely changes you from simple to wise. Simple: silly, foolish, immature, seducible, easily deluded, enticed, persuaded or deceived. That’s what you were. Wise is what Word and Testimony makes you become. Wise: wisdom in mind, word and action Wise: Having knowledge, Wisdom: The right use of knowledge - Having the power of discerning or judging correctly, distinguishing between true and false… between what is fit and proper of action and what is improper. Wise: Discrete and judicious in the use and application of knowledge. Skillful, dexterous, learned, knowing, skillful in arts, sciences, and philosophy. Wise: The ability to choose laudable ends and the best means to accomplish them.
This verse shares a powerful truth: God’s Word is entirely complete. It will revive you – it will bring you to life! And your testimony of what God did, and what He revealed (His Word to you) – that same testimony you overcome with! Will transform you from simple-mindedness to walking in wisdom. His Word will Revive you, His testimony will change you from simple to wise.
Praying for you that this will be your Daily Call. That you would walk in life and wisdom with each other… the iron sharpening iron pattern that God gave us – to bring us to life!
