Love you all, praying for you!

God put something on my heart for those of our family who went on the missions trip this week.  What I shared with them, I felt God wanted me to share with the rest of you.  Doing what God tells you to do, in the way He tells you to do it - brings success.  It brings eternal reward, it brings true contentment, and fruit that lasts.  What God has for us brings success whether we’re on an overseas missions trip, or a stay at home, go to work, take out the garbage missions trip – The mission of everyday life – to glorify His Name, and see His hand move things, people and situations, starting with me.

What makes a successful day?  Obedience – that's it - that's is the most important thing.  You can't have success without it.   It’s what Jesus did exclusively.  You have to Know what God told you to do, and do it with joy!  PiVAT before dinner is the first step, and confirming with him throughout the day. The results are crazy – it lets God move, and it lets God move you!  But as you are moving and obeying what He told you…  Here’s three things this week that will help focus you to ensure God’s success for you and through you.  Purpose, Patience, and Presence.

#1  Purpose – Everything that God has you doing has a purpose – beyond the task itself.  Don't get caught up in the task, know the purpose.  You don’t go to work just for a paycheck.  You go to work to bring glory to God, to show the love and light of Jesus, to demonstrate the diligence and excellence that is in Christ.  You go to work to add value – above and beyond what you are being paid.  Always.  If you understand the true purpose of anything that God directed you to do, not only does it make it more enjoyable, but knowing God’s purpose for it – makes you effective in it.  Knowing God’s purpose for it - increases your success.  It takes your mind off of you – and onto Him and what He wants to accomplish in you and through you.   You’ve heard the story about a guy walking down the street and seeing some workers.  “What are you doing?” He asked the first.  “Laying bricks, what does it look like?”  He asked the second one – “What are you doing?”  “Building a wall.”  So he asked the third… “What are you doing?”  “We’re building a Cathedral!”  Understanding God’s purpose in what He has told you to do, not only does it give you vision, encouragement, motivation, and joy, it increases your excellence, and guarantees your success.

#2 Patience.  As you are doing what God told you to do today.  What could rattle you, upset you, make you mad or cause you to complain instead of praise?  What flusters you or upsets you?  Spilled milk?  Setbacks?  Delays?  When you have wisdom, you have patience, your trust is fully in Him.  And what upsets you?  Nothing.  Proverbs 19:11 – A man’s wisdom gives him patience…   What rattles others, doesn’t rattle you, what upsets others, doesn’t upset you - if you are wise.  If you are foolish, void of wisdom, anything can upset you.  But when you walk in wisdom, which gives you patience... while others become the panic-bunch, you completely rise above and demonstrate so obviously what walking in the Spirit looks like versus walking in the flesh.  What is patience?  One not easily angered or frustrated when facing delay or offense.  If you walk in patience that wisdom gives – you will always reflect Christ.  If you are impatient, you lack wisdom.  If you have the wisdom that gives patience, your trust is in the LORD – you can wait for God to work things out in His way and timing – which yields far more fruitful result than the strivings of the impatient.  Patience is not complacence.  Ask God what action to take, and do it.  But when He says, "Stand still and see what I will do." you stand.  When you walk in the patience that wisdom gives - you automatically position yourself for God’s best, which the impatient will never see.  Don't let impatience forfeit God's best for you.  Don't neglect wisdom! Get some more! and it will give you patience.  Stay in the Word - get wisdom, get patience.  PRISM throughout the day.  Keep coming back to the WORD that will make you successful!

#3 Presence.  This is the key to a successful day, or week, or life.  Always be in His Presence.  Worship and Praise!  If His presence is your priority and dwelling place, everything will flow from there.  He will direct your thoughts and your words and your steps.  His presence is full of His Spirit who directs you in success in "the way you should do" - the thing that God has given you to do.  You will be a delight and a blessing, like a city set on a hill.  All wisdom, graciousness, strength, fruit and impact come from His presence alone.  They don’t come from any other place.  If you choose His Presence throughout the day.  He will lead you to be so effective, so fruitful, so successful.

Praying for you that you would know His purpose for every task, or project that He leads you in.  That you would let nothing steal the patience that wisdom gives you, and that you would live in His presence – so your reactions would truly be His, your thoughts, words and actions would truly be His.  So He can establish your hour and your day and your life in His success.

Love you all,
dad
