Love you all, praying for you.
God challenging me recently… Unless you are living alone on an island, you are going to encounter people today. How do you view people? Because how you view them, will determine how you treat them. How do people view people? Most people view other people as – obstacles, irritants or threats, unless they like them, or they view them as opportunities, or a means to an end. Most people view other people in terms of what can they do for me? Most people view other people strategically. Can they help me get to where I want to be? Whether potential customers, potential partners, potential mentors, someone I’d like to get to know or be seen with. We want to be around people that are beautiful, fun, and make us feel good about ourselves. But how do we view or treat people who seemingly have nothing to offer? They can’t really do anything for us, they are not really like us, we don’t ‘click’, we don’t have common interests and we don’t really aspire to be like them. How do we treat those people? Some people are jazzed by people – they live for human interaction. Others are just not people-people. Should your personality determine how you view or treat them? Jesus didn’t view people in terms of what they could do for him. He viewed them in terms of what they meant to His Father.
For God so loved the world, that He gave his only begotten son, that whosover believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life. – John 3:16 In that one verse God set the value of every single person on earth. – Infinite value. The short ones, the tall ones, the big ones the small ones, the mean ones, the nice ones. They are of infinite value to God. So how do you view people today? And what will you do – when you run into one? (it will surely happen…) Do you have a rational preoccupation with the preciousness of others (One of the many things we've learned from "Growing Kids God's Way"), Not a needy or clingy or co-dependent view of others – but do you really view people the way God loves them? Do you really see them the way God sees them… the way they could be? Or do you just view people by the way they treat you - or what they could do for you? Do you love the ones – who seemingly have nothing to offer you? Jesus did. God challenged me with something else. Of all the things you could focus on today – your goals, ambitions, dreams or accomplishments. The only thing that will last for eternity is people. Not a single other success of your life will be remembered. The things that last forever are people, not accomplishments. So what we do for people will far outlast what we do for ourselves.
I’m praying that you will review even right now - two Relationship Topics – it doesn’t take long… Relationship Topic – How To Treat People (only one page) and Relationship Topic – Love For Others (only a few pages) Get God’s WORD in you - about people. It will change how you view them, and how you treat them, it will change what you will bring with you – forever.
Love you all,
