Daily Huddle - Mon  Mar 25, 2019    The Anatomy Of Change

Love you all, praying for you.

Praise God.  Each new week is just the next leg of the journey He has for you.  Praying that you will know from Him what He has for you this week, and what He has for you this week to prepare you for what is to come.   Ask Him, keep checking in.

Yesterday I shared what God was teaching me about change.  The Purpose and Process of Change.  Purpose of Change:  God changes you to establish you.  Process of Change:  Mind, Word, Heart, Habit, Destiny.   God also reminded me about the anatomy of change.  Six Steps of a two-sided coin.  What does change really look like.  What constitutes real change in someone’s life?

The two parts of change are Hearing and Doing.    The hearing side of change:  Revelation, Decision, Vision.  The doing side of change:  Habit, Diligence, Persistence.   For change to take place in your life:

First you need a Revelation.  God impresses upon you the need for change, and what change is needed.  He reveals this to you.  (through PRISM… in the night season… etc.)

Then you need a Decision.  Do you receive it or reject it?  What words come out of your mouth, the first time God confronts you with change?  These words will determine if you will receive it, or the birds can come and snatch what God had for you.

Third you need a Vision.   What does this change look like in your life?  The preferred end state.  These three are the Hearing side of Change:   The other side of the change coin is the Doing side of Change:  Habit, Diligence, and Perseverance.   If you have Revelation from God – and your words received it.  And you decided in your heart to obey in it, and God reveals what that looks like.  (Just ask Him, He will.)  You have now completed the Hearing Side of Change.  Next, it’s time to implement the change God told you - The Doing Side of Change)

Habit -  Start the habit that brings about the change.  (for example.  Leave and Enter – Every Surface Clean, or Do PRISM out Loud, or Read a Bible Chapter before bed, rather than Instagram before bed… etc.)

Then you need Diligence -  The consistent effort daily – with tools to sustain it.  Some people start daily habits, (like New Year’s Resolutions – which have fallen by the wayside by January 10th).  Diligence means not just the effort but even the tools to maintain diligence.   Like sharing on your Daily Call, Marking on a “Shot Chart” on the Gym Wall, or Using PiVAT Progress for the month, to assist you in your diligence.

Finally you need Perseverance.  – To persist in any business or endeavor undertaken -  to pursue steadily any design or course commenced.  Not to give up or abandon that which was undertaken.   Persist:  To continue steadily and firmly in the pursuit of something begun.   For persistence to become permanent – you need to review the commitment regularly - Why did God instruct you to make this change?  What is the benefit?  (PiVAT Weekly, PiVAT Monthly and PiVAT Yearly are great reminders.)

A great tool for persistence is what David used:  Declaration.  He was always declaring – speaking his commitment to this change with His Mouth.  That’s what made changes permanent in His life.  Don’t be discouraged if you slip.  This is part of the change process.   Just get back on track!  Get back to your PiVAT Progress!   One Step forward and two steps back – then becomes Two Steps Forward, one step back.  Finally every Step is forward, and you rarely take a step back.  Don’t give up.  God doesn’t call you to change something for no reason.  There is fruit coming if you don’t give up!  Just start again.  He’s waiting. His Grace is enough.

Praying for you.  That every Change God inspired in you, you declare with your mouth like David.  So you will do it, and keep doing it!

Love you all,
dad
