Love you all, praying for you,

I just love God’s Word.  It’s a contrast.  It tells you what is right and what is wrong, what is best and what is not.  Have you ever noticed something in your life that just doesn’t fit?  I remember as a child watching Seasame Street.  Three of things belong together, three of these things are kinda the same, but one of these things is not like the others…  It was teaching game about the concept of same and different.  Three of them are oranges, one is an apple.  Nothing wrong with an apple, or apple pie, but this game is about oranges right now.  Sometimes we can live life forgetting about the oranges, and an apple can creep in or be sitting there without us recognizing it.  What are you supposed to be doing?  Focused on? that God told you?  Is this thing it?  Or is it taking from it?  For some things the time is past.  Remember when you were young, and you could do anything you wanted at any time? stay up late, sleep in late, go anywhere you wanted?  But now you have a job and a wife and kids that need your attention, you don’t have time for Happy Hour every day after work.  And come to think of it, they weren’t even happy, they were just trying to act happy, they were really just complaining and criticizing.  Golf every Saturday was great, but your wife’s been with the kids all week, and she needs some help, and some time, and the kids need time with you.  Some things just don’t fit anymore.  Are you aware enough to notice?  Life is really kinda like a pie.  The circumference never changes, just the size of the slice.  The more time you spend at work, the less time you have at home.  It’s one or the other.  And just like the truth – “your best second job is doing a better job at your first job,” so also is the truth – it’s not how much time you put in at work, it’s what you put in to the time.  Many spend much of their work hours at the water cooler, or like the painter spending the first two hours of the day arranging the drop cloths and paint cans, without getting any paint on the wall.  God says there is a time for everything, what time is it?  And does this fit right now?  Have you had any habits creep in recently, that have now consumed more time than you intended?  Binge watching ‘Friends’ can be enjoyable, and the Bible never says, thou shalt not, but does this habit, or time allotment of anything that you are doing… does it produce what God has called you to be or become, and does it fulfill what God has called you to do in this season?  Remember, the pie stays the same, the slices just change.  God has given twenty-four hours in a day, and He has already determined the number of your days here on earth.  Does that thing bring about what He desires, or is that just one of your desires?  It is really important to understand the concept of opportunity cost.  Not just in business, but in life.  Whatever time you spend doing one thing, means less time to do something else.  What Does God have for you?  What is His best?  And is what you are doing - fulfilling what God has called you to do?  Some things might need to be adjusted, and some things may need to go altogether.  Some people, aren’t going where God is leading you.  You can still love them, but God hasn’t called you to live life with them.  The people who you are closest with, you will become like them, more than they will become like you.  Do they fear God?  Do they submit their time to His control, is a transformed mind by God’s Word their priority, Do they obey with money, or does it control them?  Do the people in your life, fit the purpose God has for you?  And is what you are pursuing a fit or a distraction?  Jesus had to correct Peter.  God told him to do something, but He went fishing.  Not fishing for pleasure, it used to be his job, so to be fair it was all that he knew.  And when it came to working hard, that’s what he always worked at, so he went back to work.  But God told him to fish for men, not fish.  Jesus had to remind him, "Peter, that doesn’t fit."  There’s nothing wrong with it, if you’re a fisherman, but I’ve called you to fish for men.  Praying that you will ask God what doesn’t fit, or doesn’t fit anymore, that you would remove any distraction that has crept in, that God never called you to.  Praying that you might review the PiVAT Hours Log.  You may be surprised at how much time you are spending or not spending – on things God has called you or not called you to do.  Praying that in the most important minutes of your day, that PiVAT time before dinner with God, and the most important minutes of your week, seeking His plans for you though PIVAT Weekly, that you would ask God – to be sure… so you can leave behind whatever doesn’t fit, and pursue the perfect fit that God has for you – so you become and fulfill all that He has destined you for, and has destined for you!

Love you all,
dad
