Love you all, praying for you,
God's plans for you are good! and they are always for you to grow. Jeremiah 29:11, Psalms 92:12, I Peter 2:2, II Peter 3:18. So what are you growing in? What does God want you to grow in today? Not only what does He want you to do today, but what does He want you to grow in today - as you're doing it? If you did PiVAT before dinner – you know His plans for you for today. You are able to do what He told you – first thing this morning. Sometimes it’s just to rest. Other times, it’s starting early on what He has purposed for you to do today. But as you do these things – the things that He has assigned you (you can’t really have a good day without it)... Are you growing in them? Are you doing them with intention, with excellence, with thanksgiving and praise? How well are you doing what He told you? Are you growing in diligence, in a heart attitude of gratitude? Are you doing it better than you did the last time? Jesus asked the Pharisees, Matthew 21:28 – What do you think? There was a man who had two sons. He went to the first and said, ‘Son, go and work today in the vineyard.’ ‘I will not,’ he answered, but later he changed his mind and went. “Then the father went to the other son and said the same thing. He answered, ‘I will, sir,’ but he did not go. Which of the two did what his father wanted? “The first,” they answered. It’s interesting we think that obedience is just doing, and doing immediately and completely, but what if you responded well, obeyed completely, and did what God asked you with a heart full of gratitude, and thanksgiving, doing your work with all your heart as unto the LORD, not for men or a paycheck… You would grow in diligence and in excellence. Do you do a better job when you want to do something, and are glad to do it? Or when you have to do something, you don’t want to do it, and grumble about it? Sometimes God tells us to do something, and we don’t want to, or would rather do something else. Praying that you would know His will today, and do it with joy. I love the word, rejoice. It means to take joy again, that means don’t wait til it hits you, for some people it will never hit you. Take it, Choose it. Take joy again and again – no matter what task He has assigned you. Who would you give the best tasks to – a worker who is fully thankful, and excited to do whatever you ask, or a worker who is always grumbling about what you tell them to do? Clearly the first, you'd probably fire the second... Praying that you will know exactly what God has told you to do today, whether you understand and agree or not, that you would take joy again and again in doing it. That you would do it completely, without delay, thankfully, and with the excellence – that reflects Jesus... that you would grow in obedience, and in diligence. You can’t grow in favor, if you don’t grow in obedience. Obedience brings the favor. Favor always follows obedience. And the way you do what He tells you - will impact the favor that follows you. Praying today that your heart in obeying would reflect your love for God – because of His great love for you. Praying that you won’t just obey in the big things, but the little things. That whatever He asks – great or small, you would do it with the same joy and diligence as if he asked you to do the best thing ever! Because this thing that He told you to do today - is the best thing for you right now! So as you grow in how you do it - you can get to - the best things ever. Love you all, dad
