Love you all, praying for you.
Time with April getaway today. 30th Anniversary Monday. God already showing himself so awesome multiple times already. Blessing after blessing. It’s just what He does. So thankful. God reminds me of things. Sometimes in paragraphs, sometimes in sound bytes. A recent miss brought a correction. It wasn’t a big thing, it was a little thing. God told me to buy something. But I don’t like spending money. I thought that $3.00 was not a needed expense. (I guess I was saying, I know better how to manage His money). But later the Holy Spirit asked me, “Why didn’t you buy what I told you to buy?” “Because I wanted to save money?” “What did I tell you to do? “Uhhh… I didn’t realize it was you.” “Did you ask me to make sure?” " Crap... " Then the Holy Spirit said, “It’s never too late to obey.” Immediately I knew I had to go back the next day and do what God told me to do in the first place. What should I have done? Simply ask God, “Is this really what you want ? because I used to spend money foolishly before, and I don’t want to waste money or time or anything on what is not clearly you telling me…” (I really am learning to be content with what I have. He knows that.) These are all good. But sometimes God tells you to do something that is outside your normal habit or tendency – even if it is a good habit or tendency. Warning #1 - Just cause you see a sign that says, “Sale” doesn’t mean it’s the Holy Spirit. In this case, it was a small book that God wanted me to start a daily habit with. And it doesn’t even need to be something about money. God just uses money to teach us obedience. It’s a perfect tool to do so. Money is very specific, you either did it or you didn’t. (not ‘kinda did it.”) That’s the reason God often uses money - to tune your ear to his voice. (Warning #2: We’re not talking about buying on credit. God’s Word is unmistakably clear on that.) Praise God. Went back the next day, bought that little book, and two shelves away God showed me something to buy for someone else; that will help them in a daily habit God is leading them in. So my take away? It’s never too late to obey. Just repent of the miss… and ask God “what do you want me to do now? “ He’ll tell you. Then do it. As I pondered that lesson that I have learned before, but had to learn again. God had me write down one more thing. I obey because I love to! Not because I have to. Love for God draws me to obedience, not out of fear of God’s punishment or judgment (Obedience is joyful), I’m drawn to it – because of what He’s done for me – and because of what He has for me! Through obedience. Praying for you, that you would learn obedience the first time. God will sometimes use money, sometimes He uses other things. Just ask Him if you are not sure, then trust, then obey. Think about this! The God of the Universe! Loves you enough to guide your path even in the little things. Remember, the little always precedes the much. Love you all, dad
