Daily Huddle - Sun  Apr 14, 2019    Saul Or David - Opposite Habits

Love you all, praying for you!

Praise God – His goodness has no limit, His love you is eternal, beyond understanding.  He is so excited about you this week! The good things He has planned, if you will just ask Him and then take the first step.

God revealing to me…   The Bible is full of contrasts.  God’s Way, man’s way, righteous, wicked, wise, foolish, blessings, curses.  Here is another contrast… Saul and David.   Their habits were clear.  Clearly opposite.

I Chronicles 10:13  Saul died because he was unfaithful to the LORD; he did not keep the Word of the LORD, he even consulted a medium for guidance, and did not inquire of the LORD.

God left Saul.  He died because   .1) He was unfaithful to the LORD.  .2) He did not inquire of the LORD.  .3) He did not keep the Word of the LORD (even consulting a medium).   Saul never used his mouth to commit his heart to obey.  David always did it - constantly.  That’s why his heart wasn’t for God like David’s was.

Saul did not inquire of the LORD, or God’s plans tomorrow’s plans.  So he hadn’t developed the habit of obeying, and when God told him to do something, he didn’t fully do it.  No PiVAT, no obeying, no habit, no testimony, no overcoming.   Saul didn’t do PRISM every day, like David did; so he didn’t love God’s Word like David – so he didn’t obey it.   God left him, he lost everything.

David was just the opposite.  David committed out loud to obey so he grew in faithfulness.   David did PiVAT every day – to inquire of the LORD.  So God told him what to do and when.  David did PRISM every day and it established his thoughts, words, and actions.   Psalm 39:8 - I desire to do your will O my God; your law is in my heart.  David was in PiVAT and PRISM constantly and he always declared his commitment to obey.   His four habits were – Praise, PiVAT, PRISM, and Investing his mouth in God’s goodness, and his own obedience.  It fashioned his heart after God’s – it made him an obeyer.

Acts 13:22  I have found David, son of Jesse, a man after my own heart, he will do everything I want him to do.

I Chron 11:9  And David grew more and more powerful because the LORD Almighty was with him.

Praying that you will be like David.  That you will commit with your mouth to obey.   That PRISM will help you love His Word – so you obey it fully.   That PiVAT before dinner, will have you inquire of the LORD – every day – so His plans become your path.  Praying that praise will be the garment you wear – that it will always enter you into His presence.   That The LORD Almighty would be with you.  That you would grow more and more powerful in the calling, the plans and the harvest that He has for you.

Love you all,
dad
