Love you all, praying for you!
God spoke to me this morning. Order. What I’ve told you to do, do it in order. Order is so important – the proper arrangement of things. Don’t get thrown off track. Some people’s personality tends toward order, others are more free flowing. Some are enslaved to order, others are devoid of it. Order is just like everything else in life - there is God’s way and man’s way. Order has a place – but it’s not the destination – it just helps you get there. The order you think – may not be the order God has. His order is always better – as better as His yoke is better. Jesus said – My yoke is easy and my burden is light. Order – arak <aw-rak’> to set in a row, that is, arrange, put in order, set in battle array, estimate, ordain, prepare, value. Another word for order, erek <eh’-rek” a pile, equipment, estimate, equal, proportion. Another word for order – al – above, upon, against, according to, accordingly, by reason of. For years in Software Development – every project management facilitated endeavor – included all related tasks. But there were some that were above – required in order. Known as the Critical Path – these were not ancillary tasks that added to the result, but the mission critical tasks that must necessarily be done in order. Meaning every major task that needed to precede the next, so that yet another task would be made possible to complete. Webster’s 1828 Dictionary describes order – regular disposition or methodical arrangement of things; as the order of troops, or the order of books in a library, the order of proceedings. Muskets in good order, bodily organs in order means a person is in good health. Try to find a book at a library that is not set in order – it would be like finding a needle in a haystack. If you have to grab your musket to defend the town. It would serve you well – if your musket is in order – if not – and it doesn’t have the powder full in the pouch, or any musket balls to fire – well… I guess you could try to club someone with it. But you’d probably be shot long before you got close enough. The Bible says that God set the universe in order. He is a God of order – the proper arrangement of things. God understands ‘critical path.’ Today God reminded me – be sure you do things in order. The first challenge is – what is in order? Not the order I would do. A reminder like this – is really a reminder that I need to ask the expert, the Master Planner – what is the order He has for me. We spoke recently of the two things God has for you to do. Things for you to do today – the assignment He has for you – which must necessarily be completed – so that you will be at the starting point to do the thing He has assigned for you - for tomorrow. And the other thing God has for you to do – are the things He has for you to do every day. One is to accomplish, the others are to become. One of the things God has me start my day with - is 8 Things You Can Do To Fear God Right Now. It is a habit I have development in my life – that resets me every morning – that helps me start in humility before God – to get my heart right, my mind right, my motives right - and to reset my resolve to be a quick, complete and joyful obeyer today. This week, God has an order for you. The devil tries to make you think that God’s order constrains you – that you would be free without the constraint. But that is a lie. God’s order – makes sure you don’t miss anything, you do things that build on the previous thing that make possible the next thing. God is a God of momentum, and the joy of obedience is like no other. You will see His hand at work. Praying that PiVAT before dinner – will be your never-miss habit. But that it wouldn’t become so familiar – that you start picking and choosing. Praying that you would only right down in that right column what God specifically told you to do. That you would ask Him “when” for each one. And that you would be faithful completely to do them in the order that He has ordained. So that not only would you not forget anything but the momentum that His order brings will add fuel and joy to your obedience. If it’s Saturday or Sunday – be sure you seek Him for His Order for you this coming week. Your obedience this week – will determine who you will become – and the starting point from which you can obey from – next week. This obedience thing is definitely a path not a list. It’s a journey – that if you will trust Him with the content (what to do) and the order (the most effective and impactful arrangement) you will see fruit like you could never have imagined. Praying that you will spend time today seeking God for His PiVAT Weekly for you. It’s important! That you would ask Him, and do things in the order that He has prescribed. That you would know the day and the season, even what He has for you in this hour. He has good for you! And we think of just today, maybe next weekend… but He is thinking of eternity, and He’s thinking of generations. Your obedience today and this week, in His Order! will impact generations! And will impact you for eternity. What would you wanna be good at? If you could be good at anything? Some say they would love to be an NFL quarterback, or a Cy Young Award winning pitcher. While that would be fun, it’s so very temporal. And there are billions of people on the planet that don’t even know what a Cy Young is – or was. My prayer for you is that you would be a world-class obeyer. The best news about that – you may never be a Cy Young Award winner, or a Superbowl MVP. But you can be a world-class obeyer. That’s what Jesus was, and is. And if you will learn to obey like Him, things He told you to do today and every day – in the order that He has prescribed, the most effective and fruitful arrangement of them – the battle array that brings victory for you.. You will find the result – is not temporal, and forgettable like Cy Youngs and Superbowls, but Eternal! The fruit of your obedience will impact eternity for you, and generations that will follow. It’s how God thinks! It’s how He works. Never despise little obeyings… and always seek and follow His order. He will add a blessing to it – that brings joy – forever. Love you all, dad
