Love you all, praying for you,

When I was a kid – there was nothing worse – ever – than forfeit.  When the bus broke down and we couldn’t get to an away game.  And we had to forfeit.  Or not enough kids showed up to field a team, because mom and dad made them go on family vacation.  I could never understand that – how could a vacation be anywhere close to as important as this Tee-Ball game!  There is nothing worse than forfeit.  To give up without even trying? without even playing the game, losing was bad enough – but losing because you didn’t even show up?  As a kid – I just couldn’t get my head around that… Like games cancelled because of snow.  There has to be something in the Constitution of the United States of America to prevent some Principal from cancelling the game because of a snow day?  There is nothing worse than forfeit – it’s worse than actually getting beat!  At least you had a chance to win.  This month as I was seeking God for His PIVAT Monthly for me.  God put in my spirit – this is the month of Grace.  The fifth month.  Praise God He gives grace – unmerited favor, and Divine Power.   And along with every gift that God gives – comes the choice to unwrap it – to walk in it - or not.  Jonah 2:8 – Those who cling to worthless idols forfeit the grace that could be theirs.  So much of what we experience is what we choose and what we ignore.  Here God says – misfocus is forfeit.  The King James says "They that observe lying vanities…" Those who observe – give careful attention to, focus their pursuit on… lying – false, deceptive, useless… vanities (empty things, transitory things, things that don’t satisfy and lthat won’t matter in the end – vanities) Those people forfeit the grace that God had for them.   On our PiVAT Weekly Call - A friend mentioned the Vision God gave us.  Love God, Love People, Make Disciples.  How do your pursuits align with God's priorities?  Not everything we give our attention to - is what God told us to do.  How much of what I'm doing - is loving God (that's obedience) loving people (prefering them over myself) and Making Disciples (pointing them to the obedience of Christ - so they can walk in the purpose for which he created them!) Just because this month is a month of grace – doesn’t mean it’s a month of grace for me, or for you – unless we choose it, unless we walk in the Grace He has given us, the grace that He purchased for us.  I love the Grace of God (unmerited favor, and overwhelming power (that’s what Divine Power is – overwhelming – more than you would ever need – overkill)  He gives us grace to say no -  to those empty worthless things – that seem attractive – but that lead to death.  And He gives Grace to say yes – to the things He has chosen us to do – that we were selected and ordained to do - the purpose and plans that He has for us to walk in.  Grace to say yes.  For by Grace are you saved – (from what – your own way) through faith – you have to hear Him and belief he said it and it’s good for you – because that’s Who He is and what He has – Good.  His plans for you are good.  Philippians 2:13 for it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose.  That’s grace – to say no - and to say yes.  It’s the grace that God gives.  Praying that you will walk in humility that gives you access to His grace.  Remember, He opposes the proud and gives grace to the humble.  That you will never forfeit the grace that could be yours.  That no other pursuit would ever have you forfeit the grace – that mercy and power that God has for you.  Praying that you would choose His grace to say no, and say yes, so your testimony increases, that God would propel you into His purpose for you – so His Name will be made great in you!

Love you all,
dad
