Love you all, praying for you!
God showing me some things recently… Every country, city or community has First Responders – those who are trained and prepared. In a recent tragedy, one of these responders on the scene told the news, “We were trained for this.” It’s interesting however in God’s Kingdom, everyone is a first responder. What do first responders do? They respond. But more than just to tragedy – people respond to things every day: to God, to people, and to situations. I guess the question is – do you respond first? And what is your response? We talked about reaction and response. Reaction is just an immediate action which counters another action. A response is more of a thoughtful, planned action or set of actions to address a need or an opportunity. So when it comes to first responders and first responses – how are you doing? When tragedy strikes – or need arises… are you first or slow to respond? Does God want you to go, pray, or give? Sometimes God wants you to go… are you willing? Sometimes God wants you to give… are you willing? And when God wants you to pray – do you? Is that your first response? If it is – then you will get the will of your Heavenly Father for you. Just ask Him. He’ll tell you – and He will provide all that you need – to do anything He tells you to do. How would God respond to this? He is always the First Responder.
While emergencies and tragedies arise, more often in life – we encounter God, people, and situations – that elicit or require a response. This happens every day. What is your response? And what is your training? Praying that PiVAT before dinner – is always your habit. God will prepare you for things to come tomorrow. Sometimes it’s in your P: Prayer – What do you need most from God today (for tomorrow) Since you don’t know, you haven’t been there yet, and He has, when you ask Him, He’ll tell you. You may not understand what it means now – but by morning – or the end of day tomorrow – you understand exactly why He told you that. PRISM is the one hundred percent best First Responder Training. PRISM is God’s truth, and God’s way – to respond to Him, to others, and to situations around you. Praying that your first response will always be Humility and the Fear of the LORD. Humility – always think of God as the highest, and others more important than you. Are you saying that God loves other people more than me? No. God loves everyone – but when Jesus came – He thought of others before himself – that’s why He laid down his life for them. Do you work on Humility? First – fully commit yourself to obeying whatever God says – like David did, do it with your mouth. Your mouth commits you, and your actions will follow. Second – Kneel - Let them that fear the LORD bless the LORD (Baw-rak – to kneel) Kneeling before God at the start of your day – is a powerful habit. The spiritual posture of humility and obedience. Someone once said, “A man never stands taller than when he is on his knees.” When we get lower – God gets bigger – and then He raises us up. Third – Listen. This is the first demonstration of humility. Listen - hear them out – don’t form your response before listening. God says be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to become angry. When you listen – you are practicing humility – putting it into action. You by listening are putting others, their thoughts, their feelings, above you own. And Fourth – See people like God sees them, and see situations like God controls them. When you see people like God sees them – He’ll give you His love for them – that you couldn’t have had on your own. When you see them as He sees them, you look past their words, or even their negative actions – even towards you – and you see what is really happening. You can see hurting and often deceived people just responding the way they have been taught. But how is that different than what you were? God loves them – and wants to free them. Do you love them like God does? You have the love of Jesus inside of you. And situations – loss or disappointment, tragedy or failure, or when you’re facing the threat of loss – what is that compared to God’s Power or His love for you. Praying that you will be trained in Humility – that you would let God train you to Humble Yourself – so you will be A Responder – of the love and power of God. It will have huge impact on others. And finally – that you would learn the Fear of the LORD – that you will turn from evil – instantly, tremble in His presence, obey fully, say nothing harmful, and seek peace and pursue it. Through your PiVAT obedience, and your PRISM transformation – soaked in His Word – He will make you a First Responder and an Always Responder – who reveals His Heart, and His Love, and His Power. God will bring joy unspeakable and full of glory. He will use you, and will bless you beyond what you could even imagine. And He will bless others through you…
