Love you all, praying for you.
Praise God! He loves us enough to tell us things. 11:00 last night before bed. Just sat down to check the news online. The screen is starting to paint, and Holy Spirit said, “No, read the Word instead.” I X’d out instantly before the front page painted the news site – so I didn’t even catch what the headline was. Praise God! I reacted in obedience even before my mind processed the reason why I was doing it, or even before I could mentally weigh the alternatives. Like touching a hot stove and pulling your hand away in a millisecond before your mind could even translate, “Wow, that’s hot!” I remember my next thought that translated it for me…”I better obey now or I won’t obey.” When learning to obey the Holy Spirit, it has to be an immediate reaction, not a weighed decision. The Holy Spirit nudges you, He doesn’t clobber you. It’s rarely a billboard, its usually that still small voice. The battle is – your mind instantly asks itself, “Was that just my thought, or was that really the Holy Spirit?” The only way to bring clarity to that voice, is instant obedience – over time. When your habit of obedience becomes immediate, that’s when His voice becomes unmistakably clear. It takes faith - faith that – “That’s really Him!” Just do it! Practice. In basic training the first thing that the army trains recruits - is instant obedience to a commanding officer. They know that in a few weeks their very life may depend on it. There may come a day when your very life may depend on obeying the Holy Spirit in an instant. But the fruit of the Spirit (kingdom fruit) always depends on it (obeying the Holy Spirit in an instant). I love the picture of the Israelites in the wilderness. When the cloud lifted they moved. When it rested, they set up camp. The Holy Spirit leads us today… He’s the cloud. Moses said, “Lord, if your presence will not go with me, don’t send me up from this place.” God promised: “My presence will go with you.” He has sent His Holy Spirit for us to know for sure, and walk in the path chosen for us. Praying for you today that His voice will become so clear… Love you all, dad
