Love you all, praying for you.
God showed me something recently. John 6:5 - When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, ‘Where should we buy bread for these people to eat? He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. Jesus always saw opportunities - He never saw obstacles or needs. What need is really a need to Jesus? While they were in the boat – fighting the storm - rowing with all their might - Jesus was sleeping. They were stressed out, overwhelmed by the need! What need? Jesus is in the boat. There is no need. He’s the answer, He’s the supply, He already knew what His Father was going to have him do to bless these people. Many times before He will bless – He will test. He already knew what was going to happen, but He wanted to test Philip before it happened. Tests seem to come most often in questions. The test is the question. How are we ever going to…? Where are we gonna come up with…? What if this happens? What question are you facing? It could be a test. What could be a threat, or danger, or need in your life. God already knows what He’s going to do! He’s going to save you! He’s going to deliver you, He’s going to test your faith to build your faith, so He can do more! But He allows questions to come to test us. On my Daily Call yesterday, Alan said something that was revelation. During His time sharing His PiVAT for the day – he shared something and immediately added, ‘It was a test that turned into a testimony.” Wow. That was God speaking. That is the purpose for every test! Every situation you find yourself in, every question that you face. This test is going to turn into a testimony! When you pass the test – you increase the testimony. So how do you pass the test? It’s always faith demonstrated by obedience. Speak Faith, Speak Life, He’s your deliverer, He’s your helper, He’s your strong tower, He’s the way maker – He makes a way out of no way! Something out of nothing! He brings victory out of defeat, He makes us thrive under threat. He’s faithful. Those questions that test your faith – He already knows what He’s going to do. He’s already turning this test into a testimony! It’s already underway! So how did Philip do? Verse 7 - Philip answered him, “Eight months wages would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite! Philip saw the earthly reality, he didn’t see the opportunity. He didn’t know who it was who asked Him that question. Verse 8 - Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, spoke up, “Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?" Andrew too, was still stuck in earthly reality. But I love it, He at least had a start - Here’s a little boy’s lunch… Wow, faith starts with something so small. God said it’s like a mustard seed. Do you know who might have had the most faith? The little boy. Andrew didn’t steal that lunch box from that boy – do you think he said “Hey, what’s that over there?” and when the boy turned his head, Andrew swipes his lunchbox, and puts it behind his back. That could never have happened. Little kids know when someone takes their stuff! This little boy volunteered it, he gave his lunchbox to Jesus. Childlike faith. Praise God! What’s the answer to that Question? The Test Question? Where will we get food for all these people? “But God!” That’s the answer! I know 20,000 people are coming over for dinner – But God! Just give him your lunch box. What do you have with you now? Take inventory, and give it to God. God can use it, He knows how to multiply things. That’s why you sow seeds of faith – not corn stalks of faith. Verse 10 - Jesus said, “Have the people sit down…" Oh boy, here we go. Sometimes to see your miracle, God makes you do something uncomfortable. You were fine giving the lunch box, but now you’re telling these people to sit down? What are they gonna eat? Grass? Have you ever had God tell you to do something that is just really going to be embarrassing – if He doesn’t come through? You’re doing what? God told you to do what? “There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them. (not counting women and children) Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish." Oh Praise God, that’s what God does – Jesus just thanked God and started passing out the food! And God didn’t just provide enough to eat, he gave them as much as they wanted! They were coming back for seconds! Just a little bit of faith, just with the little lunch box they had. And God did mighty things through it! He already knows what He’s going to do - for the rest of your life! Every Question, Every Test you will ever face – for the rest of your entire life! He already knows what He is going to do. And it’s Good! Praying for you, that you would see every question that is a test. That you would know that God’s purpose in this is to turn this test in to a testimony! It’s what tests are created for! Praying that you will seek the wisdom from God that He has for you, that your answer to every test question is “But God!” And that you would be always willing to share your lunch. God always starts with what you have – and then He makes it more than enough! Love you all, dad
