Daily Huddle - Tue  Feb 5, 2019     Belichick & the Great Commission

Love you all, praying for you.

Today is a move forward day.  Just fully obeying.   Amazed at what God is bringing to pass.

His ways are so much greater than our prayers.  We pray a thread, He answers in a tapestry.  I guess that’s just His fullness on display.

God showed me something.

Football coaches often put a sign above the locker room exit:  the theme for the entire year; the vision players hold onto just before they rush the field to face the battle that awaits them.

One Super Bowl Season, Bill Belichick had a simple sign.

Do Your Job!

He knew that Super Bowls are only won if players reject the distractions, the unimportant, and focus on the main thing.

Don’t worry about the media, don’t worry about the coaches, don’t worry about your teammates, just…

Do Your Job.

What if the locker room of heaven posted the same sign?  What would it mean?
What’s your job?  What would God say?

Simple.

The Great Commandment.
The Great Commission.

Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.   And the second is like it, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

Then Jesus came to them and said.  “All authority in heaven and earth has been given to me.  Therefore, go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, and surely I am with you always, even to the very end of the age.”

So…  Love God, Love Others, Make Disciples.

The first one is an obeying thing
The second one is a preferring thing
And the third one… it takes one to make one.

By the way, all three are a river thing more than a climbing thing.

Praying for you.  That you will get so comfortable walking in the Spirit.   He’s the only way you can really, Do Your Job.

Kinda crazy;  He really is the one who does it.  We just go along for the ride.  How ridiculously awesome is that!

Love you all,
dad
