Love you all, praying for you.
Sometimes the simplest truths can have profound impact. John 1:1 - In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. This is clearly Jesus. The part of God who took on human form to die in our place. Have you ever wondered, what if you lived in Jesus’ day? And you heard of this teacher who was healing people, even raising the dead. Would you have been one of those who followed him? Well, I guess we’ll never know... not really. If you follow Him now, you would have followed him then. John 1:1 says the Word is Jesus, God himself. And we have Him with us today – in His Word. If you follow the Word, you are following Him. Spending time in His Word – is spending time with Him.
Why don’t people follow? They are busy with other things, even good things, even ministry things. Luke 14:18 (tells about the invitation to the Kings banquet – what better description for the Word of God) – ‘But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, “I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me. Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me. Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.” Jesus also invited people. Luke 9:59 – He said to another man, “Follow me.” But he replied, “Lord, first let me go and bury my father.” Luke 9:61 – Still another said, “I will follow you, Lord; but first let me go back and say goodbye to my family.” Luke 10:40 – But Martha was worried about all that had to be done. Finally, she went to Jesus and said, “Lord, doesn’t it bother you that my sister has left me to do all the work by myself? Tell her to come and help me!” Jesus so gently replied, Martha, you are concerned about many things, but Mary has chosen the best. Spending time with Jesus, the Word, is always a choice. Some people chose worldly pleasures or business instead of spending time with Him. Some people chose to spend time doing other good things instead of spending time with Him. Some people are so busy with ministry – they choose to spend time with it, they have no time left to spend… with Him.
Praying for you, that PRISM will always draw you back. That once or twice a day is never enough. That you would always come back to Jesus the Word, Praising the Word, Insight, Reading, PRISM Topic… That you can’t help it. There’s life there! There’s hope there! There’s wisdom there! There’s only success there, and success – is only found there. It’s where you learn his heart. And where you learn to want it more than anything else. Praying that Praise the Word, and Read the Word and Insight from the Word, not only change you (how you think, how you respond...), but it really changes your relationship with this Jesus – and it makes your heart become like His.
Love you all,
