Love you all, praying for you,
Have you ever noticed how easy it is to swing at a bad pitch? Sometimes we are trying so hard to make things happen, we’re spending a lot of time outside of the strike zone. It is so easy to lose focus, to get our attention onto other things than what God has for us… right down the middle. Have you ever been caught in a tangent? You can get focused, consumed with… a car search, or a house search, or a girlfriend or boyfriend search, or a ministry search, or a new job search, and before you know it you are swinging at balls in the dirt, or pitch outs. It’s an intentional ball. The catcher is six feet away from you, and you’re still swinging? The devil’s just laughing and you are striking out. Part of being a good hitter is being content to wait on the right pitch. You chase less, and you hit more. Part of being a good obeyer – is being content to wait on God’s timing – so you can walk in His plans for you, His best for you, not your ideas of what would be best. Patience is not complacence, so what do you do while you're waiting for that pitch? While you’re waiting for something, hoping for something, even asking God for something – a dream, a desire, a true longing…. Do what you know to do, what He specifically told you to do - today. PiVAT is so important, not just so you are productive instead of fruitless, but so you learn to hear and follow God’s voice. It becomes so natural that the lack of Him speaking feels funny. You don’t rush as much, if He didn’t say it, I’m not swinging!. A good friend says often, "The closer you get to Jesus, the closer you get to your provision." The closer you get to Jesus, the closer you get to your direction. The closer you get to Jesus, the closer you get to your promise, to your dreams to your desires, some of which God hasn’t even fully downloaded for you yet… they’re that much better than you can imagine! What you think is good, He’s got excellent. Would you think would be nice, He’s got way more, way better, in the perfect time that has you fully prepared to receive it, and to run in it, to succeed in it. Praying that you will be content to wait on His pitch, that you will hear His voice, that you won’t be swinging at everything that comes at you. That you won’t be chasing pitch-outs or balls in the dirt, that you would pursue His Presence, more than you pursue anything else. So you can wait on His timing – so when that 'right down the middle' pitch comes, you’ll know it. That’s the pitch that gets sent out of the park! Love you all, dad
