Know And Do

I just love God’s Word.  It is truth and life.  And it is simple.  God gives simple instruction.  (Not easy, but simple) - uncomplicated.  First step first, then next step next.  He instructs, he tells stories, and he demonstrates. He gave us an example so we can see it and follow it.  John 13:12 – When he had finished washing their feet, He put on his clothes and returned to his place.  “Do you understand what I have done for you?  He asked them.  You call me ‘Teacher’ and ‘LORD’ and rightly so, for that is what I am.  Now that I, your LORD and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet.  I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.  I tell you the truth.  No servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him.  Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.  Jesus had told them, if you want to be great, don’t be like the world, who wants to lord it over people.  Instead if you want to be great, be the servant of others.  Don’t aspire to be their boss, but the one who serves them.  Now He demonstrates what it looks like, and tells them ‘don’t just do as I say, do as I do.”  Now that you know, the blessing comes if you obey.  Know and Do – simple, not easy.  Serve instead of be served, simple, not easy.  Two very important things.  Know and Do.  To know is irreplaceable.  If you don’t know, how can you do?  But to do is critical – if you don’t do, how can you really know. Know to do, and do to know.  How important to you is knowing?  Will you spend the time to get the knowledge of God? Or stumble along in your own?  Will you Do PiVAT before dinner so you can know what He wants you to do? Will you do PiVAT Weekly for this week? So God can reveal what He wants to do in you, and do through you, so you can become what He is leading you in, and leading you to?  Will your PRISM time be a priority, so you know how to do, what He told you to do, so He can confirm it, and reveal the heart and mind and wisdom with which to do it well?  Will you overcome this week – simply because He said?  Exhort one other daily?  So you can overcome by the blood of the Lamb, and the word of your testimony?  To know is so important, and if you know (He will surely tell you if you ask Him.)  How quickly then will you do it?  Knowing without doing isn’t really knowing, it’s just an awareness of what you haven’t done yet.  Praying that you will know what He has for you to do this week?  And how He wants you to do it, so you can be so effective in it.  Praying that you will do it completely, with humility and joy – so that He gets the glory and you get the blessing.  Just like Jesus’ example, he only did what His Father wanted him to do.  He knew it because of the conversations they had… Praying that your conversations this week with your Father in Heaven, will be so intimate, so clear, so transforming, so submitted, that you know and do – everything in His heart – for your good!
