WHAT IS THE FEAR OF THE LORD? To hate evil, (turn from it immediately), to tremble in his presence, to fully obey what He tells you, to speak the truth, to say nothing harmful, to do good, to seek peace. This is the fear of the LORD.
What Is The Fear of the LORD?
1 To Hate Evil. Proverbs 8:13 – The fear of the LORD is to hate evil, pride and arrogance, evil behavior and perverse speech I despise. (What does Hate mean? Turn from - immediately, like a putrid smell. What does Perverse mean: saying something different, another word, a reason not to. Perverse is a reluctance to obey, thinking about it, instead of instantly obeying… delaying obedience, turning it over in your mind until you justify not obeying.
2 To Tremble in His Presence. Jeremiah 5:22 – Should you not fear me?” declares the LORD. “Should you not tremble in my presence? I made the sand a boundary for the sea, an everlasting barrier it cannot cross. The waves may roll, but they cannot prevail; they may roar, but they cannot cross it.
3 To Fully Obey what He tells you. Deut 10:12-13 – And now, O Israel, what does the LORD your God require of you but to fear the LORD your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul, and to fully obey all his commands that I am giving you today for your own good.
4 To Speak the Truth.
5To Say Nothing Harmful.
6 To Do Good.
7 To Seek Peace. Psalms 34:11,13-14 – Come, my children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD. Whoever of you loves life and desires to see many good days, keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking lies. Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
WHY FEAR THE LORD?
1 It's a Requirement 2 Chronicles 19:9 – Thus you shall doin the fear of the LORD, faithfully with an undivided heart.
2 It's the Beginning of Wisdom Psalms 111:10 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding, to him belongs eternal praise.
3 God will Bless You Psalms 115:13 – He will bless those who fear the LORD, both small and great alike.
HOW TO GET THE FEAR OF THE LORD?
1 Ask for It - Psalms 86:11 – Teach me your way O LORD that I may walk in your truth, give me an undivided heart to fear your Name.
2 Devote yourself to it - Psalms 119:38 – Establish your Word to your servant, who is devoted to your fear.
3 Read His Word every day – Deuteronomy 17:19 – It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life.
4 Obey what he tells you – Deuteronomy 17:19 - It is to be with him, and he is to read it all the days of his life so that he may learn to fear the LORD his God and follow carefully all the words of this law and these decrees.
8 THINGS TO FEAR GOD RIGHT NOW... (8 things that you could do right now to Fear the LORD) Kneel, Praise, Say, Tell, Turn, Trust, Obey, Hope.
1 KNEEL Ps 135:20 – You who fear the Lord, bless the Lord. Bless (baw-rak') to kneel, by implication to bless God.
2 PRAISE Psalms 22:23 - You who fear the Lord praise him! Honor him all you descendants of Jacob, Revere him all you descendants of Israel.
3 SAY Psalms 118:4 – Let them that fear the Lord say, “His Love Endures Forever!”
4 TELL Psalms 66:16 - Come and hear all you who fear God, Let me tell you what He has done for me.
5 TURN Proverbs 3:7 - Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and turn from evil. (Anything even close to evil, anything with the appearance of evil, turn from it like a putrid smell, turn from it, walk away, run if you have to... This is the fear of the LORD.)
6 TRUST Psalms 115:11 - You that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord - He is their help and shield.

8 Things you could do right now to fear the LORD. You could KNEEL right now, you could SAY right now. You could PRAISE Him right now. "God I praise you, I fear you, I love you, you are worthy of all praise!" You could SAY right now "His love endures forever, you could say it more than once! You could TELL someone right now, just call them and tell them one thing the LORD as done for you. You could TURN right now, from anything you shouldn't see or think or say, anything God did not tell you to do in this hour, you could turn from it. You could declare right now even before it happens that you will turn from every evil thing today. This is the fear of the LORD. What you speak with your mouth, can help you fear Him. You could TRUST right now. Just tell him, "LORD, God You are my help and shield - right now I put my trust in you!" You could OBEY right now. Do exactly what He told you to do in this hour. PiVAT before dinner, and He will tell you, so you can walk in the good He has prepared for you today! You could HOPE right now. You could put your hope in God right now. Just tell Him, "God your love never fails, you have never failed, I put my hope in your unfailing love because your Word is True! Your love never fails!"
