Love you all, praying for you.
I just love God’s Word. God uses it to give you what you need for each day. Sometimes He drops bombs, sometimes just quick reminders – reinforcing what you already know, but always with new life, and new hope. Psalms 86:1 – Hear O LORD, and answer me, for I am poor and needy. We don’t always hear what God, the LORD will say, because we don’t always listen. But God always hears what you say, because His ears are always attentive to your cry, like the Good Shepherd, and loving Heavenly Father that He is. David says he is poor and needy. Not penniless, poor of spirit, humble, pressed down, and needy. He cannot do it on his own. He has neither the strength nor the wisdom of what is best to do. But God hears and answers, not because you are poor and needy. There is poor and needy everywhere (and most don’t realize it). Revelation 3:17 – You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind, and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. Those whom I love I rebuke and discipline. So be earnest and repent. Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in and eat with them, and they with me. Poor and needy, don’t mean without money, or means. It means recognizing your need for God, His Word, His Will, and His ways above yours. Yet God doesn’t respond to need, He responds to faith. He hears and answers David, not because He is poor and needy, but because David asks. He humbles himself and cries out to God, recognizing his condition and his need, and recognizing God’s Greatness and Power, and His mercy and compassion, His love and goodness for all who call on His Name. God hears the cries of the poor and needy who come to him for help! Praying that you will always call out to the LORD, that you will recognize your need for Him, but also His great faithfulness for you. If you call, He will answer, He will save you and deliver you, He will strengthen you and guide you, He will fulfill the purpose He has for you – starting today. Poor and needy isn’t low self-esteem, it is just a recognition of your limits, and His limitless power and love for you. Praying that you will cry out to Him every day. That you will know that He hears, and that He answers, because His love for you is so great. Your need doesn’t prevent Him, your failures don’t stop Him. Everyone who calls on Him in their time of need, whether your life is going great, or you are walking through difficult trials. Everyone who asks, receives, everyone who calls, He answers. It might not be what you expect, or how you imagined, but it is exactly what you need – His perfect timing, for His best in your life. So He gets the glory, and you get the blessing. Praying that you will call, so He can answer. Love you all, dad
