Love you all, praying for you,
I just love God’s Word. It’s always there to help us. It is quite literally God himself in written form - extended to mankind in a way that’s digestible for our tiny intellects - so that we can actually take him in and be transformed. It’s a miracle. Proverbs 17:3 “The crucible for silver, and the furnace for gold, but the LORD tests the heart.” What if the Lord’s tests weren’t to prove us impure but a necessary step in order to prove us pure? Okay, real talk. Sometimes I’m jealous of gold. It may have to go through the fire, but it doesn’t have feelings so why should it care? But if it did, I can imagine that the furnace wouldn’t feel super fun for gold. But at the end of the day, the goal of the furnace is to make the gold better. To purify. The fire is not to torture the gold, but to actually serve the gold. So what if we thought of the Lord's tests in the same way? Hebrews 12:5-6 says “My son, do not regard lightly the discipline of the Lord, nor faint when you are reproved by him; for those whom the Lord loves he disciplines, and he chastens every son whom he receives.” Later it says, “No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it.” What could change if we took on this attitude? What if we believed that God, as a loving Father, tests our heart to serve us so that we can be made presentable to Him and yield a good harvest? The great thing about Holy Spirit is He doesn’t make it hard on the humble. He knows our weaknesses. He knows that we can’t get rid of the dross in our hearts or produce good fruit on our own. (If we could, He never would have needed to die as a man on a cross.) So when we cry out to him for help, He loves to answer us! And He is generous! He will spare no expense! He will give the fullness of his power in order cleanse and heal and restore every part of your heart that needs it so you can produce fruit of repentance in your life. Praying that we will all begin to submit to His voice in the little exposures and yield to His power so that we may be purified and trained by His discipline and found faithful by his testing. Love you all, Klarysa
