Love you all, praying for you,
I just love God’s Word. It tells you truth, what you don’t know, what you need to know, what you wouldn’t know without it. It gives you truth that will change your life. It will change your mind, your perspective on things. It lets you see things as they really are, not just how they appear. It tells you the secrets of life, and the secrets of success. I just love God’s Word! One truth you should know about… Have you ever procrastinated? Has it ever bothered you? What is procrastination? Putting off for tomorrow what you could do today. One day God gave me a revelation that changed my life. There is no such thing as procrastination. It’s just a man-made construct. When I was young, I felt guilty about procrastination. I felt embarrassed, upset and guilty about my procrastination. Why? The truth is, I wanted to be rich, and I believed that procrastination prevented wealth. The devil started calling me a procrastinator. I wasn’t; he was lying (Imagine that) but I didn’t know it, and I believed him. One day God asked me. “How can you procrastinate something I never told you to do? Hmm… (Have you ever noticed that? God always asks you things that make you say Hmm…) And instantly, the devil’s lie was broken. I never believed it again. It had no hold on me anymore, I could see right through it. That’s what truth does, it lets you see through lies. So what is the truth about procrastination? There is no such thing. It’s either disobedience or deception. If you didn’t do today, or in this hour what God told you to do, that’s not procrastination, that’s disobedience. It just sounds nicer if you call it procrastination. Delayed obedience is disobedience, not procrastination. And it always costs you something. Joy first, joy if nothing else… And the next things it costs you is time and position. Position because every obedience puts you in position not only for God’s blessing that comes with obedience. But the position that it brings you to – striking distance. Obedience puts the next good thing that God has for you - within striking distance. First, if you don’t know, you can’t obey. That’s why PiVAT before dinner is the most important thing you can do today. So you know what God has planned for you for tomorrow, and so you finish strong every thing He has told you to do today. So you get the joy of obedience, the blessing of obedience, the increased faith of obedience, the reward of obedience, and the position of obedience… striking distance for God’s next good thing for you! Other than disobedience, procrastination could only be deception. God never told you to do that. The devil just wants to make you feel guilty for nothing. Usually it’s something that the flesh wants. Money, Fame, Success, the things that would build your pride. Things that you think will make you look good in the eyes of others. When that is a fallacy for two reasons. #1 The only eyes you should care about – is if it makes you look good in the eyes of God. If He esteems it. It doesn’t matter what other people think. And the embarrassing #2 thing that makes it a fallacy – is your lack of self-awareness… Other people don’t even care. – they’re not impressed by you, they’re consumed with themselves. What they need, how to pay the bills, how to afford gas or groceries, how to find a soulmate, how to get a new job or house or car… they don’t care what you drive or how successful you are. Trying to impress people who aren’t even looking at you and don’t care – is really an exercise in futility – the devil’s continual plan for you – futility. God’s plan for you is fruitfulness, the devil’s plan is futility. So delaying what God never told you isn’t procrastination - it’s deception. Don’t feel guilty about something God never told you to do. You’re not a procrastinator, you’re a growing obeyer, a walking in joyer, a growing faither, and hoper and prayer, a praiser, and overcomer by the testimony you’re about to get with this next step of obedience! Praying that you will know God’s will for you today, and do it completely, with a happy heart. With joy! Not for what you can get from God, but for what you can give Him. He needs obeyers to accomplish His purpose – that everyone might be saved (I Peter 3:9) But you need to be an obeyer way more than He needs you to be one! It’s infinitely more for your benefit, than for His. He can get the rocks and trees to praise Him, but if you do, you’ll see Him get up off of His throne and live in your praise, because He inhabits the praises of his people. He’ll do something! If you just obey today, Get His plans and Know His Word – so you can do what He planned for you with the mind of Christ, knowing how best to do it, in the perfect time… Then every good thing He has for you – will keep coming, one thing after another. Not without trials, or setbacks or struggles, but with victory every time. So don’t worry about procrastination, there is no such thing, it’s either disobedience or deception. Praise God the Holy Spirit and the Word of God helps you see right through deception, and His grace helps you obey in this next hour. So you see the Goodness He has stored up for those who fear Him, for those who walk uprightly, in the plans that He has prepared for them. That’s you. Love you all, dad
