Love you all, praying for you,
Praying that PiVAT before dinner has you walking in God’s perfect plans for you today. If you missed last night, just take a few moments now, and check in with your boss. He said His yoke is easy and His burden is light, and He’s your Heavenly Father, not just your boss. He loves you and has better things planned for you today than you could ever imagine. As you grow in obeying with time, the key to success and fruit in your life… sometimes it’s just as important to know what not to do, as it is to know what God has for you to do. There are many more things you are not called to, than things God calls you to do. You could do anything… In any event you attend, or activity you participate in... you could hang out, stay late… Sometimes God leads you to stay until the crowd thins, so the conversation He has been preparing for you can take place uninterrupted. But sometimes it’s time to leave early, in order to be prepared and rested for what He has called you to do tomorrow. You cannot do everything, and do it well. You must know what God told you to do, and what he has not told you to do. That’s different than telling you not to do something. Those are more obvious, it’s those optional things, that seem good, and maybe even are, but are just not the best, or not the best at this time… these are the greatest dangers to fall into – that make you miss what is better – the best that God has chosen for you. In life, you will always have to say "No" to something to say "Yes" to something else. Praying that God will lead you clearly. Praying that you will stop and ask, rather than just carrying on. It’s good to ask before you start a task, project, or event – God what do you want for me to do here? (What’s my real purpose here, beyond just the obvious? What’s my assignment? What is the Divine Appointment?) And how long do you want me to do this? How long do you want me to stay? Some events or activities have a stated or assumed purpose, but God may have additional things that He wants to accomplish in you or through you in the middle of them. Sometimes those conversations in passing – Divinely appointed, are even more important than the event or activity itself. It’s part of what God means when he says to redeem the time. A common quote – "Leave them wanting more." Always better to leave early, than stay too long. Perhaps it comes from Proverbs 25:17 – Seldom set foot in your neighbor’s house – too much of you and they will hate you. New Living says – Don’t visit your neighbors too often, or you will wear out your welcome. It good to know when to leave… But even more important is to know why God has you there, and what He wants to accomplish through your visit. If you arrive on time and leave on time… they will definitely appreciate you coming, and look forward to your return. And you won’t miss your next assignment! Even if its just sleep! PiVAT before dinner will really help – it’s that habit that continues that conversation with God, so you grow in your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit leading your day. He will have you arrive and leave in His perfect time. Your day will be fruitful, restful, impactful, and thankful. Love you all, dad
